PROJECTS

NEW SLIDE FOR THE PLAY AREA - Grant Success

The Council continues to invest in the play equipment and has this year (2020) replaced the old slide with a new more adventurous version and safety surface. This has been made possible with a grant from Norfolk Foundation Jack's Lane Windfarm Fund.  Hopefully to be enjoyed by lots of families once the gloom of Covid-19 has been lifted.                                                                                                                                     October 2020

NEW TROD FOR BIRCHAM TOFTS - Grant Success

The Council successfully attracted a Parish Partnership grant to add a Trod along the verge in part of Stanhoe Road.                                                                                                                 June 2020

HEART BEAT - Defibrillator for Bircham - Grant Success

The Parish Council worked with Bircham Social Club and East Anglian Ambulance Service to install a defibrillator for the benefit and peace of mind of residents.   Grant funding was secured to cover the purchase of the defibrillator and heated cabinet.  The unit and a second privately funded unit at the Village shop have now been installed.  Awareness sessions are planned when it is permitted, but you can follow the link below to view how to use the unit    https://www.cardiacscience.com/products/powerheart-aed-g5/

February 2020

BIRCHAM IN BLOOM

An initiative to improve the parish was launched in 2018. Parish Councillors and volunteers signed up to Anglian In Bloom in 2019 and after judging the Parish was awarded a SILVER. Planting around the Village Sign and the War Memorial has been carried out for the first time,  there were also baskets at the Bus Shelter.  Due to Covid there was no competition in 2020 but the Parish has enjoyed lots of Spring bulbs and summer blooms including two new rose beds.

COMMUNITY SPEED WATCH - Can you volunteer

Bircham has a Community Speed Watch team, run by local volunteers.   If you can give some time to support this speed reduction initiative - then please contact the Parish Council.  More information on the scheme can be found  on the Norfolk Police Website
