SPEED REDUCTION - GATEWAY SIGNS - Grant Success

Bircham Parish Council hears concerns about speeding on a regular basis.   Information gathered by the Community Speed Watch team confirms that this is a serious issue.    At the Annual Parish Meeting in March 2018 residents asked what could be done. The Parish Council has no powers to deal with speeding itself, but it has looked at ways to draw drivers' attention to the speed limit.  The parish already has two-speed reactive signs, but it was felt that large clear signage at the key points of the parish could reinforce the speed limits. It was also considered important to remind drivers' that they were a rural parish.       The Parish Council's scheme which has been jointly funded by Norfolk County Council, County Cllr Michael Chenery, and the Parish Council is now in place.             August 2019
